Friendship Books (FB) For Beginners (Newbies OK)

Friendship books or FB, for short, are small booklets filled with addresses of people who are into pen palling. They come in any size and shape and it is always big fun to take a look at where it had traveled. They are passed from person to person and every single one of them signs in it with his/hers address and additional short information, before passing them to the next person (pen pal). The idea behind the FBs is that the people after you may choose to write to you, or you can choose to write an introduction letter to one of the people/addresses before you.

This swap is for all the swappers who are new to Friendship Books or just a little curious and would like to have a try. Also open to NEWBIES!

Don't worry it is understood that none of us are experts, but please put your time and effort into this. Create something that you would LOVE to receive!

SO HERE ARE THE DEETS:

• For this swap you will need to make 2 new Friendship Books & send to 2 different swap partners. (You are creating 2 books total).

• You will also send a nice 1 page (minimum) letter to your partner. Introduce yourself, talk about what inspired your design for your FBs, or chat about something you found interesting on their profile page, whatever it is you like....(you are writing 2 letters total)

• This is SENDERS CHOICE, so feel free to get started once you sign up. You may also choose to make the FBs for yourself or your partner.

• Do a quick google search to see pictures of Friendship Books and to learn more.

FRIENDSHIP BOOK REQUIREMENTS:

• The size can be anywhere from ATC size to 5 x5, as long as it can fit in a standard envelope or greeting card envelope, and must be thin (not bulky).
• The cover must be decorated (ex. ribbons, stickers, glitter, embellishment, paint, drawings etc.)
• Your book should have at least 4 blank pages
• Your book should be nice and neat and show some creativity -- NO STICKER SLAPPING!!!
• No visible staples on the cover.
• You must laminate your cover - you can use clear packing tape to do this. This is important, because the idea is this book would travel all around the country or world and it must be able to withstand all of the shipping etc.
• Make sure to note "Made For" and "Made by" with return to sender address on the inside of the front or back cover. (you may want to type this part or PLEASE print legibly)

TO ENTER THIS SWAP - REQUIREMENTS:

• COMPLETELY filled out profiles a MUST! Fill out all the categories and it would be nice to add some of your own categories ;-)
• No 1s or 3s in past 3 months
• Be an active member - must log on at least every two weeks
• You must have at least 5 total - type 2 or type 3 rated swaps - BY SIGN UP DEADLINE.
• If you cannot commit to this DO NOT enter the swap!!!!
